Northern Arizona University is a place that cares about students. Our commitment to student success and student access starts at the top and is at the center of every action the university takes.

The people who work here, however, are the ones who give NAU its heart. Our faculty and staff are the ones who make a difference for thousands of students every day—at our Flagstaff campus, at our campuses around the state and with our online learners. I often hear stories that are truly “Only at NAU”—and many of them are about faculty and staff who take the time to turn a good student experience into an exceptional one.

Some of my favorite stories about student service and philanthropy involve NAU employees. From staff members who make a student’s day simply by opening the door for them to faculty mentors who change the lives of students, NAU employees are truly the difference that matters.

This year’s Employee Giving Campaign, which started this week, is about building another amazing “Only at NAU” story. As we seek to build a strong culture of philanthropy in an environment where public funding is declining every year, your support is crucial. Every gift matters because employee participation is about the larger story: Your willingness to act allows us to tell parents, alumni and friends that those of us closest to the university stand together in support of our commitment to students.

Thank you for considering a gift as part of this year’s employee giving campaign. And thank you for all that you do for our students.
