The Northern Arizona University Faculty Senate met May 1 and elected Gioia Woods, associate professor in the Department of Comparative and Cultural Studies, as the Faculty Senate president for 2016-2017. Woods replaces Bruce Fox, who stepped down after serving in this capacity since 2015.

Other members of the executive team are Dan Eadens as vice president; Kate Ellis as secretary; Ishmael Munene as parliamentarian; Dorothy Dunn as treasurer; and Benning Tieke and Laura Blocher as senators at large.
