This year’s Employee Giving Campaign officially kicked off this week under the theme “Give a Cup, Get a Cup.” While the emphasis is to support dining scholarships and the Santa’s Sleigh Fund, participating employees can direct their gifts to all areas of the university.

Participation, in fact, generates an impact that goes far beyond dollar totals from the employee campaign.

“Being part of the campaign reflects an employee’s commitment to the university,” said Mason Gerety, vice president for Advancement. “A high level of employee participation demonstrates to foundation, corporate and major individual donors that we truly are a community dedicated to a mission.”

Gerety said that 40 percent participation is the goal for this year, up from 31 percent who were part of last year’s campaign. All staff, faculty, administrators and retirees are encouraged to participate.

In line with this year’s theme, anyone who participates will receive a coupon for a free cup of soup at the 1899 Bar and Grill. While the campaign officially runs from March 4 to June 30, all gifts made this fiscal year are eligible.

Employees will receive a paper copy of the forms needed to participate but instead may choose to go online for a quicker, more immediate option. Team leaders representing the campaign will visit departments to provide additional information.
