Abandoned bike roundup begins: Grab a green tag to avoid pick up

NAU bike rack in the summer

May 16, 2019

The end of the spring semester means the start of the annual abandoned bike roundup where Capital Planning and Campus Operations will collect all abandoned bikes on campus.

Those who plan to keep a bike on campus after commencement must place a green tag on it to indicate that it does not belong in the roundup. Bikes with green tags will not be collected. Green tags are available from the front desk at the University Union, DuBois Center, Facility Services and Contracts, Purchasing and Risk Management, University Transit and Property Surplus.

Collected bikes will be held for a required 30-day period before being sold through Property Surplus. If a bike is picked up by mistake, the owner should contact Property Surplus at (928) 523-4163.

The goal is to round up those left behind, so be sure to place a green tag on bikes that are still being used.

For more information on the bike roundup, contact Property Surplus at NAU-PropertySurplus@nau.edu or follow their Facebook Page at NAU Property Surplus.
