Women’s weight management program seeks participants

A 10-week Women’s Weight Management Research Program begins Feb. 7 and is open to female NAU faculty and staff who are at least 25 years old, at least 20 pounds overweight and have no serious, untreated illnesses.

Program goals include weight management, improved nutrition, increased physical activity and increased quality of life. Participants will pay a minimal fee to cover the cost of materials. The program includes a nine-month follow-up period.

Paid participants for a comparison group also are sought for the same research project.

NAU graduate health clinicians will run both programs, trained and supervised by clinical health psychologist Suzanne Daiss, director of the Health Psychology Center and associate professor of psychology.
