Webinar to address digital textbook trend

The role of colleges and universities in the shift from print to digital textbooks, also called eTexts, is the topic of a free Educause Live! webinar, hosted by NAU’s eLearning Center at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, both in person and online.

The webinar will address two common perspectives about eTexts—one being that they are a consumer transaction between a publisher and student and that institutions need not be involved. Another perspective is that volume licensing by institutions can dramatically reduce the costs to students and improve the terms through a business-to-business negotiation.

Participants can register to attend either at the e-Learning Center on the third floor of Gammage, bldg. 1, room 305, or to participate online.
