Tell us what you think about campus safety

By Gregory T. Fowler, Chief of NAU Police

Of all the ways you can contribute to a safe campus, probably the easiest is at your fingertips.

The Northern Arizona University Police Department strives to provide a safe and healthy environment, but we don’t do it alone. All members of the campus community share the responsibility of achieving and maintaining our quality of life. Communication and trust play a big role in solving problems and enforcing the law.

Take a few minutes to make a difference: participate in our annual survey. You can let us know how we are doing and help us better meet the needs of our community.

In turn, we do our best to provide you with information about campus safety and security issues through the annual Clery Report. The report offers accurate, timely and complete information about safety on campus.

The most recent Clery Report can be found here. In it you will find crime reporting procedures, policies, safety tips and prevention programs, as well as fire statistics and safety information for the Flagstaff campus. It also contains crime statistics for NAU’s Extended Campuses. Though the NAU Police Department acts as the coordinating agency, this report is a university-wide effort that involves offices and departments across campus.

Working in partnership with the community to address issues that affect all of us is truly the only way to reduce crime and maintain a safe campus.

So please be sure to complete our annual survey. And you can always call us at (928) 523-3611 if you have any questions.

We appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for all you do to keep our campus safe.
