Bruce Hungate, Regents’ professor of Biological Sciences at Northern Arizona University and director of the Center for Ecosystem Science and Society, is now among the distinguished scientists who have been elected to the American Academy of Microbiology.

The Interior Lighting Campaign has selected Northern Arizona University for two awards based on high-efficiency achievements at the Student and Academic Services building.
Awards to NAU were made in two categories: Best Use of Lighting Controls in a Single Building and Exemplary Higher Education Sector Site. The awards were presented June 27 at the BOMA 2016 International Conference and Expo.
The NAU building, which opened in January, features LED lighting, extensive energy-saving controls and daylight harvesting.
The Northern Arizona University School of Music invites community members, families, friends and music lovers of all types to enjoy the wide variety of admission-free performances that will take place during the Curry Summer Music Camp at NAU, which celebrates its 67th season this year.

The School of Informatics, Computing and Cyber Systems at Northern Arizona University becomes official on July 1. The formal unveiling was announced by Dean Paul Jagodzinski and the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences.
The school offers a unique interdisciplinary experience focusing on four areas of strategic growth—cybersecurity, heterogeneous and reconfigurable systems, cyber-physical systems, and big data and data science—that represent 21st century challenges in key areas of national need.

Northern Arizona University is opening the media lens to twenty Native American high school students this summer. The Andy Harvey Native American Broadcast Journalism Workshop kicked off this week and the students are buzzing around the newsroom telling their stories.
