Suzuki Strings students from NAU’s Community Music and Dance Academy are performing at this year’s annual Hullabaloo Festival. About 20 young violinists, between the ages of 5 and 8 years old, will take the Sunnyside Stage from 11:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 2, in Flagstaff’s downtown Wheeler Park.

The Suzuki Strings program is offered by the university to provide experienced violin instruction in group and individual settings. Based on the Suzuki Method, a philosophy of learning music that allows the teaching and learning to happen naturally and in a fun environment, students in the program have various opportunities to perform throughout the community.

The NAU Community Music and Dance Academy offers music lessons for most orchestral and band instruments, piano, voice and guitar, as well as ballet and jazz dance classes for all ages and levels.
