Summer bug camp returns to NAU

A child captures an insect at summer bug camp at NAU.

Grab your nets: Summer bug camp is back. The Colorado Plateau Museum of Arthropod Biodiversity will host the camp, for children 7 to 14 years old, from July 22–26.

Campers have the opportunity to learn about insect natural history and biodiversity by collecting insects, building mazes for bugs, and cooking and eating insect cuisine. The camp, which takes place on the Northern Arizona University campus, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The cost is $200 per child.

Lindsie Abbott, a member of the museum’s staff and a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences, is the camp leader and will be assisted by other museum curators.
