Students to host Flagstaff mayoral debate

The three candidates running for Flagstaff mayor will participate in a live televised debate before an invited audience from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.

The event will bring candidates Joe Haughey, Kara Kelty and incumbent Sara Presler on campus to discuss education, sustainability and the local economy with a panel of students from the School of Communication’s Student Media Center.

The debate will be moderated by Jan Pitre, anchor and adviser for NAZ Today. Student panelists will include Joey Chenoweth, associate editor of The LumberjackBianca Strong, general manager for NAZ Today, and Alex Martinez, news director for KJACK.

The debate will air live on NPG Cable channels 4 and 59, DISH Network channel 9411, UTV campus channel 62 and on-air with KJACK 1680 AM. The debate also will be streamed live on naztoday.comkjack.org, and jackcentral.com.
