  • Senior Hunter Hazelton, who studies secondary education English, authored a poem, “Nocturne After Separation,” which was selected for the 2019 Best New Poets. This annual anthology publishes 50 poems chosen from more than 1,000 submissions. 
  • The men’s cross-country team is ranked No. 1 in the Mountain Region for the 26th consecutive week, according to just-released week four rankings from The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women’s cross-country team is ranked No. 6.
  • Junior kicker for the NAU football team Luis Aguilar was honored as ROOT SPORTS Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week. He kicked a 57-yard field goal against Northern Colorado, which is the longest connection an NAU kicker has made since 2000.
