  • Thomas Torres, a biology student and intern on the NAU Gartersnake project, completed the Boston Marathon Monday with a time of 3:32:30. Torres will graduate in May with a post-baccalaureate degree in biology and a wildlife ecology and management certificate.
  • Senior Mowana Lomaomvaya (pictured right) is the Cline Library’s spring recipient of the Mary Crawley Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a library student employee in honor of Mary Crawley, a past student supervisor. Lomaomvaya also was selected for the Native American Scholars Initiative (NASI) Undergraduate Summer Internship by the American Philosophical Society. The American Philosophical society is the oldest learned society in the United States and was founded in 1743 by Benjamin Franklin for the purpose of “promoting useful knowledge.”
