  • Art history professor Alexandra Carpino presented her paper “Motherhood Myths and Gender Stereotypes on Engraved Bronze Mirrors from Etruria” at the annual meeting of the College Art Association in Los Angeles last month. Carpino also curated “Learning from the Masters: Celebrating Flagstaff’s Masterpiece Art Program.” The exhibition is on display at the Coconino Center for the Arts through March 24.
  • Lissa Gallegos, program coordinator for Northern Arizona University Educational Opportunity Centers, was recently selected as a 2017-18 ACT College & Career Readiness champion. Gallegos was selected by the Arizona ACT Council for her work assisting underrepresented and underserved students in navigating their future educational and professional careers.
