Share your ideas to help shape NAU’s future

PlanNAU screen shotAs Northern Arizona University faces the changes coming to higher education, it is seeking input on its strategic goals.

Economic, environmental, social, technological and other factors are affecting higher education with an increased frequency and magnitude, said Pat Haeuser, vice president for Institutional Effectiveness.

“A deliberate discourse on the university’s directions allows us to be more responsive to opportunities and better prepared to face challenges,” she said.

Faculty, staff and students as well as the public will be able to share their ideas with one another other, second others’ ideas and leave feedback online at PlanNAU.com. Users will be required to first register using their NAU email, which ensures they will see questions that are relevant to their main affiliation with NAU as student, faculty or staff member.

The site also requires other basic demographic information from registered users; these default settings for the platform will not be used to track participation. Those who prefer to send feedback without registering may email their comments to Eva.Putzova@nau.edu.

The site will be available until February.

Members of NAU’s Strategic Planning and Budget Council will consider all ideas generated by the university community as they review and revise the 2010 strategic plan. The new strategic plan will be published by the end of May.

Other ways to help shape the university’s future is to interact with the university planners on Facebook or to schedule a discussion session specifically for your department by contacting Eva Putzová at Eva.Putzova@nau.edu.
