SafeZone workshops offered throughout summer

SafeZone

SafeZoneNAU’s SafeZone summer workshops are set to begin with an updated curriculum designed to educate the campus community on the history, symbols and politics that affect the LGBTQA community.

The first installment, SafeZone 101: Introduction to the LGBTQA Community, is offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, in the North Hall, room 266. Subsequent sessions are SafeZone 102: Becoming an Ally and SafeZone 103: Facilitator Training, which give participants insight into genderism, gender identities, neutral pronouns, resources on campus and how to report bias incidents. Each session is two hours and the series must be taken in order. The full workshop schedule is available online.
