Roberta Kelly to head NAU-Yuma for interim

Robert Kelly, who has worked at NAU-Yuma since 1992, has been named interim associate vice president and campus executive officer at NAU-Yuma as a national search continues for a permanent replacement.

Kelly is replacing Anna-Marie Aldaz, who retired as NAU-Yuma’s interim executive director last month. In addition to the title change, the new associate vice president and campus executive officer will report directly to NAU President John Haeger.

Kelly has worked in various roles at NAU-Yuma, including financial aid counselor, academic adviser, assistant director and associate director for student services. She said she will not pursue the permanent position so she can continue working toward a doctorate in educational leadership.

“My role as an interim will be to maintain the existing programs, but also continue our movement forward in partnership efforts … making connections in the community for addressing economic concerns—not only maintain the existing partners and programs but also investigate possibilities for future partnerships,” she recently told the Yuma Sun.
