NAU’s campaigning guidelines

With the political campaign season under way, members of the campus community are encouraged to review NAU’s policies for political activities and support of candidates.

As a university faculty member or employee you can lawfully campaign for or against candidates and initiatives on your own time, and without using state resources including NAU email; you must act individually, and not suggest you represent the position of NAU.

University lobbying activities are limited to individuals appointed by the president and registered with the state.

The university’s guidelines are determined by the Arizona Revised Statutes. They can be viewed online.
