Parking permits for 2010-11 available online

Road closures

Knoles Drive—from University Drive to McConnell Drive—and Riordan Road—from Riordan Ranch to Knoles Drive—will be closed for part of Saturday, Aug. 14, for fog sealing of the pavement.

Additionally, some adjacent parking lots will be closed, while other nearby parking lots will be open and usable via alternate routes.

Each street and parking lot will be re-opened as soon as possible on Saturday as the contractor progresses through his work day.

Parking permits for the 2009-10 academic year expire Aug. 15, and the 2010-11 permits are available for purchase online.

Benefit-eligible employees who want to take advantage of payroll deduction should order a permit by Aug. 15. Employee passes are $350, and parking garage permits are $450.

Faculty and staff also can pick up a free 2010-11 pass for the EcoPass program, which allows NAU employees to ride Mountain Line buses at no charge.

Once they arrive on campus, faculty, staff and students can use the complimentary NAU shuttle service. The new simplified shuttle route begins Aug. 23 to reduce traffic congestion and waiting time.

Flexible summer parking ends Aug. 20

Parking Services currently allows employees with an AE permit to use the parking garage at Knoles and Riordan Road and employees with a current Parking Garage permit to park in employee AE lots. However, beginning Aug. 20, employees should park within their designated parking zones and have purchased permits for the 2010-11 academic year.
