Obituary: Kenneth John Chokie, public administration student

Kenneth John Chokie, an interdisciplinary studies and public administration student at Northern Arizona University, died Jan. 24, 2015. He was 58.

Mr. Chokie was born on March 3, 1957 in Medford, Ore. and lived in Kingman, Ariz., for 18 years after relocating from New Mexico. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Chokie was employed as a correctional officer at the Arizona State Prison – Kingman. He also was affiliated with the First Pentecostal Church of God.

Mr. Chokie is survived by his wife Tammy; daughter Tari; sons Curtis, Cody and Ethan; grandchildren Kayley, Katelyn and Hanna Dempsey, Brielle and Devon Craddock, as well as Landon, Rielee, Kora and Levi Chokie; mother Barbara; sister Barbara; brother Mark; and one great grandchild.

Services for Mr. Chokie were held at the First Pentecostal Church of God in Kingman. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Chokie’s family requests any donations be sent to the First Pentecostal Church of God, 4087 Eagle Drive, Kingman, AZ 86409, (928) 757-2671, per family of Tammy Chokie.
