Obituary: Joseph Michael Bestic, master’s student

Joseph Michael Bestic, an online student working toward his master’s degree in Administration, died Jan. 7, 2015, in Glendale, Ariz. He was 43.

Mr. Bestic was born in Canton, Ohio, on Sept. 9, 1971. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1989 where he played football, wrestled and was a pole-vaulter on the track team. He then graduated from Kent State University in 1994 and enrolled at NAU in 2013. He served as director of Nursing Homes working for Health Related Advisory Group.

Mr. Bestic was an avid sports fan following the Browns and Buckeyes. He was a collector of sports jerseys, had several other collections and was passionate about classic cars.

He is survived by his sons, Jacob Joseph and Alexander John; parents Jean Harmon of Canton and Richard “Dick” Bestic (Faith) of Canton; sisters Lisa Gojanovic (Vinko) of Massillon, Ohio; Eve Bestic of Parma, Ohio; stepbrother Christopher Barress (Melanie) of Jefferson, Ohio; the mother of his children, Sandra; and several nieces and nephews.
