The Northern Arizona University Police Department is conducting its annual survey and is seeking input from students, faculty, staff and the community.
The survey is more than a Clery Act requirement; it also provides needed feedback on safety concerns and the satisfaction level of campus law enforcement services and educational programming.
The survey is available online through May 31.
The intersection of E. McConnell and Pine Knoll needs a total remake. Sidewalks need to be installed along E. McConnell Drive for all the foot traffic entering the campus; a crosswalk for this pedestrian traffic needs to be installed at the intersection of E. McConnell Dr. and Pine Knoll Dr.; the stop lines on Pine Knoll Dr. need to be re-drawn to allow easier access for campus bus traffic to make the left turn from E. McConnell Dr. onto Pine Knoll Dr.
Dennis, This intersection has been identified for improvements. There are several obstacles, including jurisdiction issues. The roadway immediately to the west is AZ. Dept. of Transportation land, which is maintained by the City of Flagstaff. Numerous meetings have been held with these agencies and a roadway assessment was completed, which identified projects for each organization. Timing of improvements needs to be coordinated by the three organizations, as to not create a greater safety problem. Funding is also an issue and federal grants are being researched. I would be happy to tell you more about the project, so please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Joe Tritschler, NAU PD Community Relation Officer.
