Campus MapIn honor of Kuwait’s National Day, the NAU student Kuwaiti club will celebrate and raise awareness with a drive around campus from 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24.

Approximately 15 high-end hot rods, escorted by the Northern Arizona University Police Department, will display national flags and play traditional Kuwaiti music as they weave their way through NAU’s campus.

“Kuwait’s National Day (Feb. 25) is a day we celebrate the independence of Kuwait from the United Kingdom and the liberation from Iraqi invasion (Feb. 26), which the United States was a big part of,” Kuwaiti club member Sulaiman AlAli said. “It is very significant for us.”

The students’ route will begin and end at the south commuter lot; the drive around campus should take less than 40 minutes. A map depicting the route is pictured left.

The public is invited to continue the celebration with the club from 6 p.m. to midnight at the DuBois Ballroom where there will be traditional food, beverages and vendors.
