Northern Arizona University continues its educational partnership with Prescott Valley, Yavapai County and Yavapai College. NAU remains committed to Prescott Valley’s Strategic Economic Development Plan focusing on business development, education, and workforce development.
“Over the last six years, Susan Johnstad has served as the assistant vice president and campus executive officer for the NAU-Yavapai campus and built enrollment to meet Prescott Valley’s workforce needs,” NAU President Rita Cheng said. “During the next few months, Susan will transition into a new role at our North Valley Campus in Phoenix as associate vice president for Online and Statewide Programs for Extended Campuses, furthering NAU’s goals of educating Arizona residents.”
During the transition, Johnstad will continue to serve the Prescott Valley campus as NAU launches a search to fill the executive director of NAU at Prescott Valley position. “We look forward to including the community in selecting a new leader for NAU in Prescott Valley,” Cheng said.
Responding to requests from the community, NAU also is expanding its outreach, recruitment and market research in Yavapai County. Efforts include market research in partnership with the Town of Prescott Valley to review current area job openings, employer needs and expansion opportunities.
NAU also will be announcing the opening of a visitor’s center and information office in the office space across from Harkins Theater in Prescott Valley. Expanded programming requires expanded outreach and recruitment efforts that are easily accessible to the public. Beginning July 1, 2016, this location will also provide retail opportunities for the community to purchase NAU clothing and merchandise.
