President's Holiday Reception 2019

Every year, Northern Arizona University faculty and staff come together to celebrate the holidays at the President’s Holiday Reception. In addition to providing an excuse to get together, donations for local charities are accepted at the reception. Though the event has been cancelled because of the pandemic, there are still many opportunities to give back to the community. See below for information on some charities accepting donations this season that usually benefit from the President’s Holiday Reception.

Northern Arizona Law Enforcement Toy Drive

NAU PD, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, are collecting toys and gifts for their annual toy drive. The greatest area of need is gifts for teens, clothes and gift cards. Gifts can be dropped off at the NAU PD lobby 24/7 at 525 E. Pine Knoll Drive.

Northland Family Help Center/Women’s Shelter

Northland has a wishlist where items can be purchased and shipped directly to the shelter or monetary contributions can be made through their online site. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they are unable to accept gift drop-offs.

Flagstaff Family Food Center

FFFC is accepting non-perishable food donations in person at their kitchen and at their warehouse but encourage monetary donations through their online portal. Due to the demand of the holidays, they are in search of volunteers to assist with their food box distribution. Strict COVID-19 protocols are in place for volunteering. Sign up to volunteer online.

Louie’s Cupboard

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Office of the Dean of Students located in the union and monetary contributions can be made to their Foundation Fund, 5351.

*There is a preference for soups, cereals, nut butters, jams/jellies, proteins (canned tuna, chicken, etc.), fruits and vegetables. Please no ramen.

NAU LEAF Program

The Lumberjack Emergency Assistance Fund provides funding to assist currently enrolled NAU students (mountain campus, online and statewide) facing unforeseen crises or hardships that require immediate one-time financial assistance. Monetary contributions can be made to their Foundation Fund, 4550.

Senior Corps Program

Due to COVID-19, Senior Corps is encouraging monetary donations made to their Foundation Fund, 4188. If you would like to donate the following:
