March and celebrate MLK Day at NAU

MLK

Honor the life and civil rights work of Martin Luther King, Jr. during Northern Arizona University’s 23nd annual MLK march and celebration Monday, Jan. 18.

The march will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the University Union and will head to the du Bois Center Ballroom for a student-run program featuring awards, poetry, speeches, a skit, the Flagstaff First Missionary Baptist choir and a youth dance team from the Harbert Chapel of Flagstaff.

This year’s theme, “Renewing His Vision: Dream Big,” was selected to “celebrate a man who without question is one of the most influential men in history,” said Kevin Chase, program coordinator for NAU’s Student Support Services. “We continue to celebrate his vision, courage and resiliency with anticipation that one day ‘The Dream’ will be fulfilled.”
