The many, and often free, events offered by NAU are a significant contribution to life in Flagstaff – the faculty musical performances, lectures, movies, Horizon series, many other events. But NAU’s efforts to attract local attendance is defeated by the restrictive parking regulations, particularly for those of us who require handicap accommodations. All but 2 of the handicap spaces I know of require NAU permits in addition to a handicap placard, and the distances are too far to walk. It is unfortunate. I donate to the NAU Foundation, but it appears that while NAU is glad to receive my donations it is not interested in enabling me to attend the many attractive events.
