Internship 101 for local employers

Hello my name is Intern

Internships are not only beneficial for students, but many employers see the value in hiring fresh talent, eager for practical, skill-building experience and professional guidance.

Northern Arizona University helps provide students with a plethora of internship opportunities by partnering with local employers, of all sizes. As an employer wearing multiple hats, it can seem overwhelming to start the intern search process, but NAU makes it easy.

The Internship Referral Center at NAU is the central point of contact for employers looking to work with NAU students. Through partnerships, consultations, and a university-wide network, the Internship Referral Center makes it easy for employers to navigate NAU’s internship and experiential learning system.

To post an internship, employers can visit Handshake. Handshake is NAU’s online recruitment platform, connecting internship providers with qualified students and helping employers manage the recruitment and application process. Employers looking to hire NAU students for internships are invited to attend the NAU Part Time Job Fair on August 26, and/or the NAU Fall 2016 Career & Graduate School Expo on October 5. Register for these events in Handshake or contact career@nau.edu for more details.
