  • The men’s cross country team was ranked first in the Mountain Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association’s Regional Rankings. Week five’s slate saw the Lumberjack men continue their reign atop the Mountain Region for the 27th consecutive week, tying the modern era records for weeks atop this poll.
  • The women’s cross country team was ranked in the top three in the Mountain Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association’s Regional Rankings. The NAU women moved from the No. 6 spot to the No. 3 spot after a sixth-place team finish at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
  • Runner Luis Grijalva was named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Grijalva earned his second award of the season for his fifth-place performance at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. He completed the 8K course in a time of 23:43.2.
  • School of Communication students Sarah Booth and Tinia Witherspoon had their films featured at the Arizona Women’s Film Festival. Booth entered her film “Always Powerful,” and Witherspoon entered “Medicine and Obligation.” These students had to compete with professional filmmakers to gain acceptance into the festival.
