  • James Wilce, anthropology professor, and Janina Fenigsen, lecturer of anthropology, have been awarded a $49,782 two-year grant from the Spencer Foundation for their project titled “Emotion Classes, Emotion Homework: Cultural Diversity and Home-and-School Interactions Concerning Social and Emotional Skills Curricula.”
  • Chad Hamill, NAU’s Applied Indigenous Studies program director, along with 10 Native American students are spending the next two weeks in Tasmania as part of an Indigenous Exchange Program. The NAU students will be paired with Aboriginal students at the University of Tasmania to learn about differences and similarities in their cultural heritage. In exchange, five Tasmanian students will be selected to visit the Northern Arizona University campus this January. Read more here.
  • NAU’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management has been ranked among the top 25 best hospitality colleges by SuccessfulStudent.org. Rankings were based on academics, real life and hands-on experience in a hospitality environment, program diversity, reputation, and internship and career placement opportunities.
  • Michael Amundson, professor of history, recently gave a keynote address at the Wyoming Turns 125 conference held at the University of Wyoming. The celebration explored the history, prehistory, and culture of Wyoming through research, art, music and food.
