  • Cline Library’s Learning Studio was the focus of a recent case study titled “Collaborative Classrooms: What We’ve Learned” by Creston Electronics. Opened in the fall of 2014, the advanced technology classroom space promotes collaboration and active learning and teaching through its flexible classroom design and features, including 4K video, writable glass surfaces, media hub centers and video conferencing.
  • President and Vetern RepWayne Johnson (right), president of the National Student Veterans of America, and Steve Weintraub (not pictured), vice president for outreach, visited Northern Arizona University this week. They met with President Rita Cheng and colleagues from Enrollment Management and Student Affairs to discuss the organization’s interest in developing new programs to serve Native American veteran students and increase their enrollment and retention in postsecondary education. SVA is interested in partnering with the university because NAU shares its mission to serve Native Americans. The discussions focused on how to leverage funding, including private and federal sources, to support joint efforts.
  • Eric Yordy, associate professor in the W. A. Franke College of Business, is the new editor-in-chief of the Journal of Employment and Labor Law, the official publication of the Employment Law section of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Yordy previously served as an articles editor and reviewer for the journal. The journal publishes peer reviewed articles in an annual issue.
