Gloria A. Henderson, a longtime administrative assistant to NAU President J. Lawrence Walkup, died Nov. 3, 2008. She was 86.
Mrs. Henderson, who began her career as a model, began working at NAU in 1962 as the administrative assistant to the president. In 1980, she became a personnel specialist in the payroll department. She retired in 1983.
Born June 7, 1922, in Metamora, Ohio, Mrs. Henderson had a passion for horses. She was also an active member of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Henderson.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff. Graveside service and internment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Veterans Section of Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco St., Flagstaff.
