Be proactive: Get vaccinated at a mobile flu shot clinic on campus

With fall semester underway, Lumberjacks are encouraged to protect themselves against the influenza virus by taking advantage of flu shots offered by Campus Health Services (CHS).

The vaccine is a simple but powerful defense against contracting the flu. It works by introducing an inactivated form of the virus into the body, allowing the immune system to develop antibodies so that later exposure to the live virus results in lessened severity or complete avoidance of sickness caused by influenza.

NAU students and employees, as well as employees’ dependents over age 16 can receive a flu shot from CHS. The cost of the shot is covered by many insurance companies and typically ranges from $25 to $40 for those without insurance. CHS offers shots by appointment at the Health and Learning Center (HLC) or on a drop-in basis at one of its mobile clinics throughout campus. Bring your insurance card to the flu shot clinic.
