Fend off the flu: NAU hosts Family Flu Vaccine Drive-up Clinic

Northern Arizona University is hosting the Family Flu Vaccine Drive-up Clinic from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 22 in the west corner of the parking lot behind Cline Library, P13. All NAU employees and their covered dependents, 4 years and older, can get a flu shot. The parking lot is accessible by W. Riordan Road near the Campus Ministry Center.

The program is by appointment only—no walk-ins will be taken—and covers people on the NAU BCBSAZ, State of Arizona Benefits Options and Medicare B health insurance plans.

To minimize risk, all CDC guidelines will be followed. Clinic staff and participants must wear a mask.

To schedule an appointment, use the PickATime scheduler. Prior to arrival, participants are required to complete a consent form. After the appointment is scheduled, participants will receive a confirmation message with complete instructions and links to the consent forms. Pens and forms will not be available at the site to reduce the risk of COVID.

Participants are asked to remain in their cars when they arrive and follow the instructions on the safety monitors. Each appointment lasts only a few minutes. When you arrive at the tent with the nurse, you will briefly exit your car for the flu shot. Children should be prepared in advance.

For tips on how to prepare children, visit these online resources: How to prepare and support kids for the flu shot and Preparing your child for a flu vaccination. If you or any member of your family is experiencing fever or flu-like symptoms, do not attend.

Any questions should be email to ask-eaw@nau.edu.
