Fall professional development programs accepting applications

As the new school year begins, Human Resources is accepting applications from faculty and staff for its next round of fall professional development opportunities.

Supervisor Academy

The Supervisor Academy consists of weekly two-hour sessions that build skills in leadership, human resource management, communication, coaching and team building. Applicants must supervise at least one benefit-eligible employee. Participants will complete 12 classes, including seven leadership courses and five electives, to earn a certificate and graduate from the program.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. Applicants’ immediate supervisors must approve acceptance into the academy.

Emerging Leaders Program

Launching this fall, the Emerging Leaders Program in intended for benefit-eligible employees who want to develop their leadership and management skills. Four weekly sessions will explore and define what it means to be a leader by focusing on personal brand, reputation and credibility. Participants must attend all four classes to complete the program.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. Applicants’ immediate supervisors must approve acceptance into the program.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

This workshop consists of three daylong sessions that explore life and work effectiveness to help participants achieve greater productivity, improved communication, strengthened relationships, increased influence and laser-like focus on critical priorities. Applications are due to by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.
