Information Technology Services and Contracting and Purchasing Services are recommending departments on campus postpone purchasing any new computers until May.
While campus departments may be looking to spend one-time funds in anticipation of FY12 budget challenges, the computer contract renewal and emerging thin client alternatives mean that the best decision could be made later in the year.
A contract award will be made with a vendor in May and ITS will offer suggested system configurations for those looking to purchase computers.
