Dance group brings border issues to local stage

A dance group that choreographs social issues into performances is heading to Flagstaff thanks to NAU.

The Minerva Tapia Dance Group of Contemporary Ballet will perform “Borderline Bodies” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Flagstaff.

Sponsored by the NAU’s Latin American studies, the event will feature choreographic works around themes from encounters between Mexico and North and South America and a perspective balancing dance art and important social contexts.

No tickets are required, but a $5 to $10 donation is requested. For information, contact Emma Canning in Modern Languages at (928) 523-0064 or e-mail ejc48@nau.edu.
