Construction projects to affect traffic flow

Roadwork and construction around campus will affect traffic flow in various locations for several weeks beginning in July.

Two upcoming projects that may affect the most traffic will be the placement of utility conduits for the Applied Research and Development building and the installation of the bridge connecting the new parking garage to Ardrey Auditorium.

A flagman will assist drivers beginning July 17 at the intersection of University and Knoles drives while workers dig a trench to place conduit. Traffic delays are expected and should last until the project is complete July 21.

Riordan Road will be closed for all traffic from the entrance of the Riordan Mansion east to Knoles Drive from Aug. 3-17. The closure is necessary for the installation of the parking garage bridge to Ardrey and for some realignment of Knoles.

The parking lot behind the auditorium and Cline Library (P13) will be accessible from the west.

Capital Assets and Services will host an information session beginning at 2 p.m. July 11 to explain these and other road projects. NAU representatives as well as architects and engineers will be available to answer questions.

Inside NAU will keep campus informed of additional roadwork and traffic delays. Information also will be posted on the NAU home page.
