Conference encourages ideas about teaching with technology

Learn what NAU faculty members are saying about student engagement techniques, the best uses of current technologies and how to successfully use blended learning design and implementation strategies in their classes.

The eLearning Center’s Southwest Institute for Learning with Technology will be held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24-25, at the High Country Conference Center.

Chuck Dziuban from the University of Central Florida will provide the keynote address at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 24. His presentation, “Blended Learning, Transformation and Disruption: ‘I Thought I Understood It Until I Tried to Teach It,’” will focus on success, the new student voice, ambivalence toward new teaching models and the importance of discipline-specific scholarship in the blended environment.

Nearly 20 sessions are scheduled in tracks focusing on technology fluency, blended learning and student engagement.

Registration for the free conference is under way, and space is limited.

A complete schedule is online. For information, call (928) 523-1629 or email elc-events@nau.edu.
