Classes promote employee wellness

The Employee Assistance and Wellness Office is offering several classes and workshops in April that promote individual and organizational wellbeing at NAU.

Write for Your Life

Tuesdays, 12:10 – 1 p.m.
April 9 – 30
Health and Learning Center, Room 2403 (Room 3), 2nd floor
$28 for four sessions
Author and teacher Mary Sojourner leads these sessions for those who have always wanted to write creatively, find themselves too busy to take the time to write, or keep a journal and want to go deeper. To register, email Ask-EAW@nau.edu or call (928) 523-1552 by April 2. Space is limited.

 

Restorative and Chakra Yoga 


Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:10 – 1 p.m.

Twice a week for $30; or once a week for $15
Designed for beginning and intermediate students alike, this lunchtime yoga class, led by Susie Smith, starts your Mondays on a positive note with 50 minutes of relaxation practices and classic yoga poses. On Wednesdays, the body-energy system of chakras will be introduced through asana and discussion of yogic psychology. Bring your own mat. Beginning Mat Pilates 


Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:10 – 1 p.m.

This beginning class, led by Corinne Finney, will introduce the elements of a basic Pilates workout, which can help alleviate back pain, increase shoulder and pelvic stability, strengthen abdominal muscles and increase flexibility.
