NAU’s Civic Service Institute to hold 9/11 Remembrance Day Events

Northern Arizona University’s Civic Service Institute (CSI) invites local participants to honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks. The remembrance will include two public events:

  • 9/11 Day of Remembrance­ – Starting at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 10, help honor those who lost lives by planting flags on the Flagstaff City Hall south lawn. Volunteers also are needed to remove the flags at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 11.
  • 9/11 Day of Service – Friends, family and co-workers are invited to sponsor a “thank you” box for Flagstaff first responders. These boxes may be filled with items such as pre-packaged foods, books, thank-you notes, games, etc. To participate please contact the CSI.
  • Community Volunteer Fair – From 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 10, Flagstaff City Hall will host a number of local organizations who are looking to recruit volunteers for their organizational needs. The doors will be open to all ages and the general public.
