Celebrate Constitution Day with NAU

NAU's First Amendment Plaza

NAU has a series of events planned on Thursday, Sept. 17, to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

The commemoration will kick off at noon at the First Amendment Plaza, and exhibits from NAU’s Veteran Success Center and Inclusion and Multicultural Services will be on display.

The afternoon will continue with featured presentations at the Native American Cultural Center. Yoleidy Rosario, assistant director of Inclusion and Multicultural Resources, will present “The Power of Illusion: From Slavery Emancipation to the Prison System” at 1 p.m., followed by “Marriage Equality and the Constitution” by former Flagstaff mayor Sara Presler at 4 p.m.

The day will cap off with a screening and discussion of the film Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot at 6:30 p.m. in Cline Library Assembly Hall.
