Boston Brass starts off Horizons Concert Series

The Boston Brass ensemble

The School of Music’s Horizons Concert Series features a rich compilation of musical offerings to NAU and the Flagstaff community.

The series kicks off with the Boston Brass performing at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, in Ashurst Hall.

For 27 years, Boston Brass has been entertaining audiences of all ages, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere through classical arrangements, lively jazz standards, and original works.

Future concerts include acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Swann on Oct. 27 and baritone Jeremy Huw Williams with pianist Paula Fan Nov. 3. A full concert list is available online.

Director of Music Todd Sullivan said the series adds cultural richness to the region. “The Horizons Concert Series exists to inspire musical exploration and to kindle conversation about music and its relationship to the other arts, ideas, and the world that surround us.”

Individual tickets for the Horizons Concert Series are $20 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and NAU faculty and staff.  Admission is free for children ages 17 and younger and NAU students with an ID. Tickets are available online and by calling (928) 523-5661, or (888) 520-7214.
