Arizona attorney kicks off Immigration Awareness Series

The College of Arts and Letters will host an Immigration Awareness Series this semester beginning with a presentation titled “The state of Arizona: Dreamers,” by Arizona attorney Daniel Rodriguez, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Rodriguez has worked with and founded various advocacy and education-based organizations, including the Arizona Dream Act Coalition and the Somos America/We Are America Coalition, the largest immigrant rights coalition in Arizona. He also is a founder of Keep Phoenix Together, a free legal clinic for immigrant families in the Phoenix metropolitan area. He is a grantee of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and a graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU.

The presentation will be held in room 120 of Liberal Arts, building 18. It is free and open to the public. The full schedule for the spring series of lectures and films can be found here.
